Experience History in a Cup! The original Arabian Mokha Java blend dates back to the 1700's where the combination of coffees from the areas of Yemen and Java comprised the world's first-known coffee blend.  We continue that tradition today in Fossil Fuel™ with a slightly modern take on that historical union by using naturally processed coffees from Ethiopia and Papua New Guinea. These coffees mount a complex, wild, yet timeless cup that serves as a looking glass to the beginnings of modern coffee culture. Colombia Arboleda Origin: Nariño, Colombia Process: Washed Roast Level: Medium Notes: Dried blueberry, cherry, caramel, tropical punch Description: "This Colombia comes to us from a small group of 18 producers in the Arboleda area in Nariño. The cup is wildly complex and simply delicious. It has a modest and sweet body with heavy notes of caramel and cane sugar. Beyond that, the coffee has an extremely juicy finish, especially after allowing it to cool. On the tasting table we got notes of dried blueberries, cherry, tropical punch, salted butter, raspberry, and lemon curd -- oh my! There's a mild but prominent acidity that is perfect for a summer morning. Try it as a Chemex or as espresso over ice." -Roaster Tony Background: This smallholder lot was sourced from a group of 18 producers living in the Arboleda area, Narino department, growing coffee at altitudes ranging from 1600 to 2200 meters above sea level. These producers use a double fermentation method often found in Colombia: an initial fermentation is done in cherry for 36-48 hours, before de-pulping and another 30-50 hours fermentation in tanks. The coffees are then sun-dried, usually on patios, for 15-20 days.

Our Iron Goddess of Mercy (Ti Kwan Yin) Oolong is a legendary tea from the Fujian province in China. It is one of China's most-beloved oolongs and is extremely time-consuming to produce (well over a dozen distinct steps in the processing are observed). This tea produces a cup that is warm, soft and soothingly mineral in texture. Notes of toasted walnut and tender collard greens. Intriguing lingering floral aroma, lightly orchid and gentle astringency. Stands up to multiple infusions.  2-3 minutes  176-190° F  1 heaped tsp./6 oz serving

Also referred to as 'flower fragrance', this tea is an amazingly floral and refreshing green from Kagoshima, Japan. The cup is soft, smooth and very approachable for western palates and can swiftly become a welcome daily ritual.  1-2 minutes  170-185° F  1 heaped tsp./6 oz serving

Jasmine Silver Tips is a delicate green tea from the Fujian province of China. Soft, full-bodied and sweet flavor with a slight dryness in the finish with a lingering floral aroma. Our Jasmine is among the highest grade for green jasmine teas.  2 minutes  170 -175° F   1 heaped tsp./6 oz serving

Our rooibos is made of high-grade leaves from the South African red bush, offering a woody taste with vanilla overtones. It is naturally high in antioxidants and produces a dark red liquor.
